Suzuka 157 Anticipation

Suzuka 157 期待 きたい

From last chapter, Arima asked Yamato what happened to him and if anything has happened. Yamato replied that he had just being reprimanded by his seniors so it’s natural for him to be depressed. Arima remarked that Yamato had expectation from many people and wondered what’s he thinking about. Yamato commented it’s a troublesome matter. Arima didn’t understand. Yamato said that he wasn’t an exceptional athlete. He continued that his university application was also accepted unexpected. There were much better athlete back then. He added that expectation is a heavy burden and he might not have the confidence to fulfill the expectation. Arima then remarked that even so Yamato won’t give up and would continue to put in effort. Yamato replied that he’s not sure. He added that it’s not the time to consider about it. Arima grabbed on Yamato’s shoulder and asked what else is important beside track. Yamato complained that it hurt but Arima demanded an answer. Yamato shunned him off and said that it’s none of his business. Suddenly, Arima gave Yamato a heavy punch on the face and Yamato fell down. Yamato asked what’s the matter with Arima. Arima told Yamato to stop joking. He commented that Yamato had mentioned before that he would beat Arima in the university. Arima contniued refreshing Yamato’s memory, Yamato had said that he would compete with Arima no matter which university he would enter. Arima then asked if that’s all bullshit. Yamato then remembered that Suzuka had told him before that Arima had asked about Yamato achievement when he was overseas. Arima had been following Yamato’s progress as he treated Yamato as a competitive opponent. Yamato answered that it’s not bullshit but..

Yamato and Arima sat down and had a conversation. Yamato told Arima about Suzuka’s pregnancy. Yamato also wondered why he had told Arima about it. Nevertheless, Yamato said that he can’t just have Suzuka keeping the baby but abortion is not an option either. Yamato continued that if the baby was born, it’s not just the matter of going to university, they would cause burden to a lot of people. Yamato said that he didn’t know what to do. Arima commented that if it was him, he would decide on abortion with any hesitation. Yamato told him not to say that because it’s not his matter. Yamato argued that it will harm Suzuka’s health. Arima told Yamato that that’s not a concern. Yamato was shocked. Arima told him that track was the most important to him. Arima asked Yamato if he had the same thought. Arima added that nothing should matter to Yamato even if it was about Suzuka. Yamato got fired up and gave Arima a punch, shouting how it could be doesn’t matter. Arima was surprised but he punched back. Yamato said that he had hated Arima since long time ago. Arima gave Yamato a kick in his stomach. The two fought each other.

Later, Yamato returned home with bruises and nose-bleeding. Ayano san and Miho were shocked. Yamato greeted them, saying he’s home. Miho asked if he was beaten by Mr. Asahina. Yamato explained that it was him. Yamato lied that it was Kinugasa sempai because Yamato had been sluggish and Kinugasa wanted to motivate him. Yamato told them that Suzuka’s matter has been solved and Mr. Asahina has forgiven him. Ayano san was pleased to hear that. Yamato said that he’s tired and returned to his room. As he walked up the stair, Yamato grumbled that it hurt and why Arima fought so ferociously. He reminisced on Arima’s remark “To me track is the most important, doesn’t that apply to you as well”. Yamato sighed and said” To, the most important is …… Suzuka.”

P/S: Yamato must be desperated to have confide with Arima. Now I knw why Yamato fought back. Arima is a cold-hearted and selfish man who only care for himself. I'm impressed with Yamato since he regard Suzuka as the most important to him. Wonder if he would give up track for the sake of Suzuka. This week is rather anticipated so hopefully next week's be interesting.

why the hell did yamato confide in arima of all people? lol, the funniest thing is armia ends up beating him up badly, i thought at least he was abit of a fighter oh well.
Still kind of hard to guess which direction it will take, but looks exciting nonetheless

Fisherman, I've been keeping up with your blog for quite some time now, and I'm just curious why you dont want anyone to share the spoiler with the anime community? Is it because you want people to directly link to your site? Dont take this the wrong way, I think you're doing a great service to suzuka fans everywhere by providing them with a solid source of suzuka information, I'm just a bit confused about your motives. I'll also take this time to thank you for taking time out of your life to keep us non-japanese speaking people up to date on the latest. You rule.

I have been rather patient on this matter until now. There used to be one or two people who cite the site but they decided not to copy&paste since I'm also a member of a particular forum. Then come along new people who found the site through the forum and started to paste the content on the forum, some exact copy & paste and some without any referencing.

I reached the volcanic point when I randomly visit some forum related to suzuka. Someone in another forum says a spoiler is similar to mine. And the person who plagiarised denied and said that it's not the same, he/she has the raw and knew a bit of JP. To make things boil, he/she said that it's OK to copy not the whole thing. Of couse, that was the preliminary spoiler that I wrote and it was the whole thing.

If one has the raw, know bit of JP, then write his/her own spoiler. One shouldn't claim he/she has the raw and has the attitude "hey, I saw the raw and pretty much that's what the spoiler had said. I don't have to write anything, just refer to the one someone has written, here it is".

I don't like to bombard people in forum. So I can only write my grumbles on the blog. I seriously doubt they pay any attention. Certain people will continue to plagiarise, what can I do? Cant stop them. Just occasionally grumble...

Well Fisherman if it means anything I agree 100% with you, and I look at your site before any of the other Suzuka pages i browse, because i know you are generally the first to write up a summary i can understand, so keep it up man =)

Agreed. I usually come here before anywhere else, and it's not alright for them to copypasta the spoilers he writes as their own. It's not that he doesn't want them to share the spoilers, they just need to make their own or just say "The spoiler can be found here -insert link to A&M Horizon-"

The bruises won't be gone by the time he and Suzuka go to the festival. She's probably react in some way and Yamato will have to tell her about talking to Arima. I guess this episode is to show that Arima regards Yamato as a rival and will regret seeing him lose his competitive streak.

Also, Fisherman, when I go to Amazon I can only see 1-5 of the Suzuka manga. Is that all they have?

Pacifist: If you are refering to the EN, I think the are only a few by now. EN was published a lot later, around the time when JP is already more than 10 volumes. I didn't keep track of the EN release but that'd be about right amount of EN.

Yeah, I've seen many ppl copy & pasting your exact spoiler in animesuki & baka. I totally understand how you feel cuz I had the same thing happened to me right here on the comment section. Someone copied & pasted my entire post and claimed it as their own, then lied about their false resource. It's ugly how these ppl could just lie and deny without feeling any shame. I read your spoilers all the time, as yours come the fastest (then the chinese raw from another HK comics forum). Keep it up & don't let these lowlife get to you! :D

People on the other forums don't post the source address when they copy past you? Wow that's really bad. Anytime I use a quote from you, I always add your address as the source at the bottom or top of my post so people can read the whole thing.

Keep up the great work though. Scannings getting a bit slow so I rely on your site for all the latest suzuka news :)

Truth be told it does not surprise me that much that Yamato would confide in Arima. Mainly because of all the characters in the manga he is the least connected to the main cast and therefore the best sounding post. This is confirmed by Fisherman's spoiler in the fact he only cares about running and such things are not his concern. This is rather analogous to a person with lots of troubles on their mind going to drink at a bar and dumping there issues to a random stranger. Sometimes you just need to let it out.

Also thanks for posting these spoilers, they help keep me sane during the week.

hashihime: hi hashihime, I didn't know you're into suzuka as well. I like your site, a great effort in promoting seiyuu. :)

First of all, thanks a lot for everything!!! Your summaries are great and, at least for me, my primary source about this manga.
Gambatte!

About the story itself, I kind of understand why Yamato talked with Arima... he's the the person who's less involved with them and he probably needed to talk to someone. In that kind of situation sometimes it's difficult to talk to the people that you appreciate (you don't want to dissapoint them). Now, regarding the pregnancy issue, it is difficult to say what will happen. Suzuka's father can even decide to send her daughter overseas, to force Yamato out of her life. I don't believe they will abort the child, though. An abortion marks any relationship with a scar that is difficult to erase.

Well, at least for me one thing is certain: the story is heading towards the end. Having a baby is a big issue, so I do not see more girls in Yamato's life (Honoka, sniff, until the end I kept my hopes). The point is will they form a family? or will they continue through different paths?

Hahah... actually, I'm the temporary translator for the scanlation group for Suzuka, and I want to thank you.

I translate from Chinese to English, (our main translator dude is out of commission for a while) and one of my friends told me in the last chapter that something was mistranslated from JPN to CHN... that it was New Year's Eve festival. I wasn't quite sure, because the CHN definitely said New Year's, but I double checked with your post after I finished translating, and you mentioned New Year's as well.

Haha... so thanks a bunch for the indirect second opinion to what was actually being said in the manga. :]

Max: HatsumodeHatsumode 初詣 is the first shrine visit of the New Year in Japan. Many people go during the first, second, or third day of the year. So I don't think it's New Year Eve.

No one cares about the Eve since it's still the old year. So it should be New Year Visit.
